National Horse Show – Lexington, Kentucky
November 12th, 2011 — by: admin
The Oz crowd was present and accounted for at the 2011 Alltech National Horse Show in Lexington, Kentucky.
This was the 128th year of the National Horse Show. Historically, the show was held in Manhattan at Madison Square Garden. Starting in 1990, the event found difficulty finding a home that suited it and made sense. It had become too expensive to host it at the Garden. It moved to the Meadowlands in New Jersey, back to the Garden, to Washington DC, to the Piers on the west side of NYC and then finally to Syracuse (with some events held in Wellington, Florida). So…… you can imagine how pleased we are that the National Horse Show seems to have found a new home. All the exhibitors loved it and the organizing committee was pleased as well.
Paige Hamilton and Madison Cameron competed in the 2011 ASPCA Maclay National Championships and Bailey Smith joined us to cheer them on. We ate like queens! Here we are at Bellini’s, a fabulous Italian restaurant in Lexington.

Capital Challenge Horse Show
October 29th, 2011 — by: admin
Only two Oz horses, Exposure and Greyscale, made the flight to The Capital Challenge in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The entire Oz Team consisted of Shelley, Maggie, Zizi, Diane and Betsy. We all had a great experience and lots of laughs.
Although Shelley and Maggie both rode well and had solid rounds at Capital Challenge, it was clear that Alexandra Zell and Exposurewere the star Ozlings of the week. The pair laid down a spectacular second round in the Adult Amateur 51 and Over Hunters, earning them a score of 87, the class win and clinching the Reserve Championshipfor the division. This was an impressive feat; The Capital Challenge brings together the top flight groups from each region to compete and this particular division was no exception with a field of 31 horses and riders. Congratulations Zizi!
The Capital Challenge also hosts the WCHR National Finals for the World Champion Hunter Rider Program. Alexandra Zell won the Adult Amateur National WCHR Owner award. Madison Cameron was named Reserve National Champion Handy Hunter Rider, while Maggie Dennis earned third. Shelley Campf finished second in the National Handy Hunter Trainer standings and Erica Hass was fourth in the WCHR National Emerging Professional Owner category. Congratulations to everyone. These are outstanding results!
