Northwest Autumn Classic – Monroe, WA

The Northwest Autumn Classic marks the end of the Zone IX show circuit. Shelley rode Puppet to the Green Working Hunter championship, and was reserve champion with Lexie Grant’s Rendition in the Performance 3’3” division. Pirouette and Shawna Dash were champion in the Amateur Owner 3’3”, and Alexandra Zell and Exposure won the Adult Amateur Hunter division. Cassius and Leslie Cox won the tri-color in the 1.10m High Adult Jumpers, and Greyscale was champion in the Conformation Hunters with Shelley and reserve champion in the Children’s Hunters 12 & Under with Katherine Dash. In the ASPCA Maclay Regional Finals, Vivian Keller rode Galabea 3 to the tenth place ribbon, and Avery Worthington and Banning finished eleventh. Musketeer and Kaylee Cox made their first Grand Prix appearance, placing sixth in the NWAC Grand Prix.

Northwest Autumn Classic is also home to both the USHJA Zone Finals and the USHJA Zone Championships.

NW Spectacular – Wilsonville, Oregon August 2012

Laura Ferran and Rembrandt win the OHJA Adult Medal Finals

The Northwest Spectacular show in Wilsonville, OR concluded the 2012 Team NW Equestrian Sports circuit. It was yet another very successful week for the horses and riders of Oz, and was a great way to end the outdoor show season. Kilkenny Chancellor was Champion in the 4 & 5 Year-Old Hunters and the Pre-Green 3’ Hunters with Shelley, and Kilkenny Anar was Champion in the Training Hunters 2’ with Tara. Puppet was Champion in the Green Working Hunters with Shelley and Reserve Champion in the Children’s Hunters 13 & Under with owner Katherine Dash. Worth the Wait captured all three of his division titles, winning the Training Hunter 2’6” with Shelley, and the Pre-Children’s Hunters and Pre-Children’s Equitation with Ethan John. Diane Laycoe’s Perserverance was Champion in the Pre-Green 3’ with Shelley, and Bryan Laycoe and Locaro Z were Champion in the Adult Amateur Hunters. Padarco Dolce and Bailey Smith were Champion in both the Large Junior Hunters 15 & Under, and the Equitation 15 & Under division. Success continued in the equitation divisions, with Alexandra Ulmer taking home the Reserve Championship in the Equitaiton 15 & Under, Vivian Keller winning the Equitation 16-17 with Galabea 3, Laura Ferran winning the Adult Equitation division with Rembrandt, and Jane Hood with the Reserve Championship in the Long Stirrup Equitation on her Adrianna. Shawna Dash’s Pirouette was Champion in the Pre-Green 3’3” division with Shelley, and Reserve Champion in the Amateur Owner 3’3”/3’6” with Shawna. In the Jumper Ring, Zara II had a great week, winning the 1.15m division, along with the Modified Junior/Amateur Division with owner Ali Majer. David Robinson’s Desert Crown was Reserve Champion in the 1.20m division, and tied for the Reserve Championship in the 1.30m division. Union and Loverboy also tied for the 1.30m Reserve Championship. Tami Majer and Camaran CR were Reserve Champion in the Modified Junior/Amateur Jumpers, and Bailey Smith and Loverboy were Reserve Champion in the Low Junior/Amateur Jumpers. Lastly, Leslie Cox and Cassius were Reserve Champion in the High Adult Jumpers.
In the Team NW Jumper Classic, it was Jeff and Tami Majer’s Cartiano Z who took home the win, followed by Oz Investment’s Apache Joe in ninth, and Zaloubet and Shelley in tenth. Earlier in the week, Oz dominated the Open Welcome, with Jeff taking the top three spots with Apache Joe, Stephanie Osmond’s Je Revel, and Cartiano Z, respectfully. Maggie Dennis and Hologram came in a close fourth, and Zaloubet and Shelley finished seventh. Kaylee Cox and Musketeer won the Team NW Mini Prix, with Zaloubet taking second, Hologram in fourth, and Loverboy in seventh. Shawna Dash rode Pirouette to the win in the USHJA National Hunter Derby, with Shelley and Argentinus finishing third. In the USHJA International Hunter Derby, Shelley and Puppet came in a close second with two beautiful rounds, followed by Tara and Stella in eleventh, and Shelley and Exposure in twelfth.
Northwest Spectacular is also home to the Oregon Hunter Jumper Medal Finals. Emily Perkins and Barcelona took home the second place ribbon in the Junior Mini Medal Final. Katherine Dash and Greyscale finished fifth in the Children’s Medal Final. Laura Ferran captured the win in the Adult Medal Final aboard Rembrandt, with Lexie Grant in Rendition following right behind in second. Lastly, Avery Worthington and Banning placed fifth in the Junior/Senior Medal Final, and Bailey and Padarco Dolce finished in tenth. Congratulations to all on a great show, and an even better summer show season!

Oregon Summer Show – Wilsonville, OR

Oz returned to Wilsonville for the first of the final two weeks of the 2012 Team NW Equestrian Sports Circuit. In the Team NW Jumper Classic, Jeff rode Cartiano Z and Apache Joe to the third and sixth place finished, respectfully, with Shelley and Zaloubet taking eighth. Oz dominated in the Team NW Mini Prix, with Jeff riding Stephanie Osmond’s Je Revel to the win, with Kaylee Cox and Musketeer in second, Alexandra Majer and Zara II in third, Bailey Smith and Loverboy in fourth, Tami Majer and Camaran CR in sixth, and David Robinson and Desert Crown in seventh. Shelley and Maggie Dennis’s Greyscale took the third place ribbon in the Grand Prix Hunter Derby, with Tara Niculescu riding Patty Shannon’s Stella to fifth.

Thunderbird Fort Langley Classic – August 2012

The Oz horses and riders crossed the border to compete at Thunderbird Show Park’s Summer Fort Classic. It was a small group, but we still managed to bring home impressive results. Pirouette was Champion in both the Pre-Green 3’3” with Shelley, and the Amateur Owner 3’3” with owner Shawna Dash. Leslie Cox’s winning streak with Cassius continued, as they were Champion in the 1.10m Adult Amateur Jumpers. Magnun Rosetta and Samantha Ortman were Reserve Champion in the High Junior/Amateur Owner Jumpers, and Shelley and Katherine Dash’s Puppet were Reserve Champion in the First Year Green Hunters. Hologram and Maggie Dennis finished fifth in the ultra-competitive Junior/Amateur Jumper Challenge. Jeff and Tami Majer’s Cartiano Z placed fourth in the Maui Jim Grand Prix, and also took home the tenth place ribbon with Oz Investment’s Apache Joe. Apache Joe and Jeff won the $2,500 1.40M Open Jumper Classic, and Cartiano Z made his first FEI appearance in the $53,000 CSI2* Keg Steakhouse Grand Prix. Congratulations to everyone!

Evergreen Classic 2012 – Carnation, Washington

The Evergreen Classic held in Carnation, Washington was yet another great horse show for Oz. Shelley took home the win in the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby on Maggie Dennis’s Greyscale, and placed third with Katherine Dash’s Puppet. Jeff rode Cartiano Z to tenth place in the Evergreen Classic Grand Prix, with Madison Cameron and Wiberra taking twelfth. Oz dominated in the Junior/ Amateur Jumper Classic, with Kaylee Cox and Musketeer finishing first, and Magnun Rosetta and Samantha Ortman in second. Katherine Dash captured the win in the Children’s Equitation Classic with Greyscale. Exposure and Alexandra Zell finished fourth in the Adult Amateur Hunter Classic, and Jeff and Alexandra Majer finished second in the Pro/Am Team Relay with Zara II.

Oregon High Desert Classic – Bend,Oregon July 2012

The Oregon High Desert Classic in Bend, Oregon was the first show on the Northwest circuit held on the grass. It was yet another great horse show for Oz horses and riders.

Apache Joe and Jeff Campf finished fifth in the $25,000 Oxford Hotel Group Grand Prix, with Tami Majer’s Cartiano Z taking eleventh.
In the $2,500 Jennifer Sparks DVM Mini-Prix, Jeff rode Tami’s Camaran CR to the second place position.
Banning and Avery Worthington placed fifth overall in the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby.

Country Classic 2012

The Country Classic in Wilsonville, Oregon was a great show for both the hunters and the jumpers. Maggie Dennis’s Greyscale was Champion in both the Conformation Hunters and the Children’s Hunters 13 and Under with Shelley and Katherine Dash, respectfully. Emily Perkins and Barcelona were Champion in the Pony Equitation, and also won the OHJA Mini-Medal. Exposure and Alexandra Zell won the tri-color in the Adult Amateur Hunters, with Bryan Laycoe and Locaro Z taking the Reserve Champion ribbon. Oz swept the Pre-Green 3’3” division, with Pirouette and Shelley winning the Championship, and Argentinus and Tara Niculescu taking the Reserve. Pirouette was also Reserve Champion in the Amateur Owner Hunters 3’3” with owner Shawna Dash. Padarco Dolce took the Championships in the Performance Hunters 3’6” with Shelley, and the Junior Hunters 15 and Under with owner Bailey Smith. Worth the Wait had another great week, taking the top spot in the Pre-Children’s Hunters and the Pre-Children’s Equitation with Ethan John, along with the Reserve Championship in the Training Hunters 2’6” with Shelley. Shelley rode both Puppet, owned by Katherine Dash, and Rendition, owned by Lexie Grant, to the Reserve Championship in the Green Working Hunters and the Performance Hunters 3’3”, respectfully. On the jumper side, Tami Majer’s Cartiano Z and Oz Investment’s Zaloubet tied for the Championship in the 1.30m Jumpers, with Tami’s newest mount Camaran CR taking the Reserve Championship. Magnun Rosetta and Samantha Ortman were champion in the 1.30m Junior Amateur Jumpers, with David Robinson and his Desert Crown taking the Reserve Champion ribbon. Bailey Smith and Loverboy won the 1.15m Modified Junior Amateur Jumper division, and Alexandra Majer and Zara II were Reserve Champion in the 1.10m High Children’s Jumpers. In the Derby Ring, Shelley and Exposure placed second overall in the USHJA International Hunter Derby, with Caviar and Tara in third, Puppet and Shelley in fifth, Padarco Dolce and Bailey in sixth, Greyscale and Shelley in ninth, Banning and Avery Worthington in tenth, and Stella and Tara in twelfth. Shelley and Exposure also took second in the WCHR Handy Hunter Classic, with Greyscale and Shelley placing third, Stella and Tara finishing seventh, and Paige Hamilton and Caviar in eighth. Lastly, Korina Winkler’s Argentinus and Shelley took seventh in the USHJA National Hunter Derby. Congratulations to all!

Country Classic Preview – July 2012

Team NW’s Country Classic Preview was yet another great week for Oz horses and riders. Puppet was Champion in the Green Hunters with Shelley, and also in the Children’s Hunters with Katherine Dash. Katherine also rode Greyscale to the Reserve Championship, sweeping the entire division. Pirouette was Champion in all three of her divisions- the Pre-Green 3’3” with Shelley, and the Amateur Owner 3’3” and Adult Equitation with Shawna Dash. Diane Laycoe’s Perseverance and Shelley were Champion in the Pre-Green 3’, while Tara and Lauren Worland’s First Lady was Reserve Champion. Shelley and Korina Winkler’s Argentinus were Reserve Champion in the Pre-Green 3’3”, and Tara and Kilkenny Anar were Champion in the Training Hunter 2’. Tara also rode Ellie Tilken’s La Linea to the Reserve Championship in the Baby Green Hunters. Worth the Wait was Champion with Shelley in the Training Hunter 2’6”, and again with Ethan John in the Pre-Children’s Equitation. Loverboy and Bailey Smith were Champion in the 1.15m Modified Junior/Amateur Jumper, and Shelley and Oz Investment’s Zaloubet were Reserve Champion in the 1.20m Jumpers. In the equitation divisions, Alexandra Ulmer and Wembley were Champion in the 15 and Under division, while Vivian Keller and Galabea 3 were Reserve Champion in the 16-17 division.
