Spring National Hunter Show – Oz Results

The Spring National Hunter show was a huge success for Oz horses and riders.  Here are some of the highlights:

Sarah Hingson and Fremont were Grand Champion High Point Adult Amateur and obviously Champion in their division of Adult Amateur 18-39Fremont and Shelley were also Reserve Champion in the Large Working Hunter.

Shelley and Costar were Champion in the Green Conformation with 5 blue ribbons and one red ribbon.  As a result, Shelley was named the winner of the prestigious Brad Laird Memorial Trophy for the leading Professional Hunter Rider. The pair also finished 4th in the WCHR Handy Hunter Classic. Zizi graciously let Shelley take Costar to the show but did not attend herself. Thank you Zizi.

Diane Laycoe’s new horse Encore was very good as well. He was tied for Champion of the Pre Green 3′ division but ended up with the Reserve Champion honors as he had more points on the flat.  “Hugo” also won the WSHJA Sr Flat Championships. Thank you to Diane for letting me develop this lovely young horse.

Legatus and Shelley were Reserve Champion in the Regular Working.  Madison rode him to a fifth place finish in the WCHR Handy Hunter Classic. In addition, Madison won the Maclay, was second in the USEF Talent Search, placed third in the USEF Medal and was second in the equitation on the flat in addition to other great ribbons in the junior hunters and other equitation classes.

Colleen Biemer claimed their ninth USEF Talent Search victory in addition to winning the WIHS Hunter Phase and WIHS Combined. She also placed third in a very large Maclay class.

Vivian Keller with Little Miss Sunshine, Morgan Spear with Pixczar, and Maggie Dennis with Greyscale won good prizes in their classes as well.

Thanks for a great show!
