Congratulations to Oz horse and riders on a great week at the Early Summer Classic in Wilsonville. Greyscale won the championship in the Conformation Hunters with Shelley, along with the reserve championship in the Children’s Hunters 13 & Under with Katherine Dash. Shawna Dash’s Pirouette took the Amateur Owner 3’3” and Pre-Green 3’3” Championships with both Shawna and Shelley in the irons. Bailey Smith rode her two horses, Padarco Dolce and Loverboy, to their respective division championships in the Large Junior Hunters 15 & Under and the 1.15m Modified Junior/Amateur Jumpers. Tara rode both Lauren Worland’s First Lady to the Baby Green Hunter tri-color, and Georgia Hunt’s Cordova Bay to the 4 & 5 Year Old Hunter reserve championship. Kilkenny Crest’s Kilkenny Anar earned the championship in the Training Hunter 2’ with Shelley, and Worth the Wait was champion in both the Training Hunter 2’6” with Shelley, and the Pre-Children’s Hunters with Ethan John. Barcelona and Emily Perkins dominated the pony divisions, as they were champion in both the Pony Hunters and the Pony Equitation. Jeff’s jumpers also had a great showing this week. He rode Kimberly Bruce’s Kantos to the top of the 1.00m Jumpers and Oz Investment’s Apache Joe to the reserve championship in the 1.30m Jumpers. Desert Crown was ridden by Jeff and owner David Robinson to the reserve championship in the 1.15m Jumpers, and Magnun Rosetta was also reserve champion in the 1.20m Jumpers with Jeff and owner Samantha Ortman. Tami Majer’s new horse, Camaran CR was champion in the 1.20m Jumpers with Jeff, and also reserve champion in the 1.15m Modified Junior/Amateur Jumper with Tami. Ali Majer’s Zara II took home the High Children’s reserve championship. Apache Joe and Jeff won the Team NW Open Jumper Welcome, while Tami Majer’s Cartiano Z was third, and Wiberra and Madison Cameron finished fifth. Later on in the Team NW Jumper Classic, Jeff and Cartiano Z were sixth, and Apache Joe was eighth. Shelley and Zaloubet took sixth in the Mini-Prix as well. Greyscale and Shelley placed third in the USHJA International Hunter Derby, while Exposure and Shelley placed ninth overall. Oz swept the top four spots in the WCHR Handy Hunter Classic, with Shelley and Exposure topping the field, Greyscale taking second, Puppet in third, and Bailey Smith with her Padarco Dolce finishing fourth. It was a fantastic week of horse showing, congratulations to all!

    So how do the jumpers at Spruce can some press here? Lots of ribbons and Kaylee Cox and Skeeter win a cooler! Not to mention a couple of fiercely competitive, but all in fun, hockey games, we were in Canada after all!
