Laura Ferran and Rembrandt win the OHJA Adult Medal Finals

The Northwest Spectacular show in Wilsonville, OR concluded the 2012 Team NW Equestrian Sports circuit. It was yet another very successful week for the horses and riders of Oz, and was a great way to end the outdoor show season. Kilkenny Chancellor was Champion in the 4 & 5 Year-Old Hunters and the Pre-Green 3’ Hunters with Shelley, and Kilkenny Anar was Champion in the Training Hunters 2’ with Tara. Puppet was Champion in the Green Working Hunters with Shelley and Reserve Champion in the Children’s Hunters 13 & Under with owner Katherine Dash. Worth the Wait captured all three of his division titles, winning the Training Hunter 2’6” with Shelley, and the Pre-Children’s Hunters and Pre-Children’s Equitation with Ethan John. Diane Laycoe’s Perserverance was Champion in the Pre-Green 3’ with Shelley, and Bryan Laycoe and Locaro Z were Champion in the Adult Amateur Hunters. Padarco Dolce and Bailey Smith were Champion in both the Large Junior Hunters 15 & Under, and the Equitation 15 & Under division. Success continued in the equitation divisions, with Alexandra Ulmer taking home the Reserve Championship in the Equitaiton 15 & Under, Vivian Keller winning the Equitation 16-17 with Galabea 3, Laura Ferran winning the Adult Equitation division with Rembrandt, and Jane Hood with the Reserve Championship in the Long Stirrup Equitation on her Adrianna. Shawna Dash’s Pirouette was Champion in the Pre-Green 3’3” division with Shelley, and Reserve Champion in the Amateur Owner 3’3”/3’6” with Shawna. In the Jumper Ring, Zara II had a great week, winning the 1.15m division, along with the Modified Junior/Amateur Division with owner Ali Majer. David Robinson’s Desert Crown was Reserve Champion in the 1.20m division, and tied for the Reserve Championship in the 1.30m division. Union and Loverboy also tied for the 1.30m Reserve Championship. Tami Majer and Camaran CR were Reserve Champion in the Modified Junior/Amateur Jumpers, and Bailey Smith and Loverboy were Reserve Champion in the Low Junior/Amateur Jumpers. Lastly, Leslie Cox and Cassius were Reserve Champion in the High Adult Jumpers.
In the Team NW Jumper Classic, it was Jeff and Tami Majer’s Cartiano Z who took home the win, followed by Oz Investment’s Apache Joe in ninth, and Zaloubet and Shelley in tenth. Earlier in the week, Oz dominated the Open Welcome, with Jeff taking the top three spots with Apache Joe, Stephanie Osmond’s Je Revel, and Cartiano Z, respectfully. Maggie Dennis and Hologram came in a close fourth, and Zaloubet and Shelley finished seventh. Kaylee Cox and Musketeer won the Team NW Mini Prix, with Zaloubet taking second, Hologram in fourth, and Loverboy in seventh. Shawna Dash rode Pirouette to the win in the USHJA National Hunter Derby, with Shelley and Argentinus finishing third. In the USHJA International Hunter Derby, Shelley and Puppet came in a close second with two beautiful rounds, followed by Tara and Stella in eleventh, and Shelley and Exposure in twelfth.
Northwest Spectacular is also home to the Oregon Hunter Jumper Medal Finals. Emily Perkins and Barcelona took home the second place ribbon in the Junior Mini Medal Final. Katherine Dash and Greyscale finished fifth in the Children’s Medal Final. Laura Ferran captured the win in the Adult Medal Final aboard Rembrandt, with Lexie Grant in Rendition following right behind in second. Lastly, Avery Worthington and Banning placed fifth in the Junior/Senior Medal Final, and Bailey and Padarco Dolce finished in tenth.
