Our second week in Calgary was at the North American tournament. This was the week of the Queen Elizabeth II Cup, one of the most prestigious grand prix in North America. Blake facilitated our poor man’s betting pool for all the feature classes this week, keeping us all on our toes!

The horses had another great week jumping on the grass. They all faced big challenges and made huge progress over the course of these two weeks. Congratulations to our ribbon winners:

We’ve all arrived in Calgary! Spruce Meadows is such an incredible place to be. There were so many top riders with top horses at the very top level of sport. We would have all been content to just watch the International ring all day. What a privilege. We all hope to return next year!

The cool weather and green trees in Oregon were welcome changes coming back from a couple months in the desert. We were all glad to have some down time, but now we’re ready to kick off the Northwest show season with the Spring National Hunter in Monroe!

Let’s start with the special awards presented at the show: Shelley was awarded Leading Professional Hunter Rider and the Braid Laird Perpetual Trophy; STEPHANIE VON GORTLER earned the title of Leading Adult Amateur Hunter Rider; EMILY PERKINS’ NEW ENGLAND won the prestigious Betty Heisly Trophy for the best overall Green Working Hunter.
